Small grants for Sports and Physical Activity
The Big Lottery Fund (BIG) has launched a new small grants scheme. Linked to the Commonwealth Games, 2014 Communities will provide grants for sport and physical activity.
Grants of between £300 and £1,000 will be available for projects which encourage participation, volunteering and community interaction . Voluntary and community sector organisations, community councils and schools are eligible to apply
Examples of projects that could be funded include coaching, taster sessions, equipment, sports kit, transport, venue hire, volunteer expenses
More information, guidance notes and application forms from the tabs here
Although local authorities (apart from schools) are not eligible to apply, the scheme will be of interest to many of the organisations we are in contact with so please pass the information on.
BIG also wants to encourage people to start thinking about the legacy of the 2014 Games. As part of that process, they would like people/communities to make their own short films to be posted online, telling others what the legacy will mean to them.
If your group has an idea for a film which demonstrates your hopes for the legacy contact BIG at 2014@biglotteryfund.org.uk
